If you use Spotify at home (or work for that matter), you might have noticed that some songs are marked as “explicit” for swearing. Or maybe you heard your favourite song with the occasional swear word –songs you hear on the radio have been edited in accordance to their broadcasting obligations… not so Spotify. And extraordinarily, Spotify does NOT offer a way to filter songs based on the explicit tag despite requests going back to 2012 for the feature
What can you do?
- Create your own playlists that you use around home
- Search for other user-created playlists titled “non explicit”
- iTunes, Google play and a bunch of other music services give you the ability to filter out certain content.
