Adding Netflix accounts for kids

If you don’t want your kids to have access to age-inappropriate material (sometimes the thumbnail images of shows can be a little provocative or scary) then it’s pretty easy to setup an account for your kids. Each profile allows for its own:
  • Personalized TV show and movie suggestions
  • Recently Watched list*
  • Ratings and Reviews*
  • Language preference*
  • Playback settings
  • Maturity level
  • My List*
*Not yet available on Kids profiles.

How do I create a profile?

You can add up to five profiles to your account by visiting the Netflix website and selecting Manage Profiles from the My Profile section of your Account. Please note that each profile must have a different name.

How do I delete or edit a profile?

You can delete or edit a profile by visiting the Netflix website and selecting the edit icon on the profile you want to change under Manage Profiles. You can select the profile’s language and maturity level or delete the profile entirely from this screen. Please note that once you delete a profile, the viewing history for that profile will no longer be available. More information on managing your viewing history can be found at How do I hide titles from my viewing history? The main profile on your Netflix account cannot be deleted.

How do I set parental controls on profiles?

You can set parental controls on individual profiles from the Manage Profiles page of the Netflix website. You will need to select the edit icon on the profile you want to change, then select your desired parental control setting from the Allowed TV shows and movies drop-down menu. You can also make a profile kid-friendly by selecting Kid? on the edit page of that profile.
Profiles are not currently password protected.
